SIERRA VISTA — After opening its doors two years ago, local charter school Leman Academy of Excellence will be celebrating a groundbreaking ceremony for a new addition tomorrow.
The 22,000-square-foot addition will bring 12 new classrooms, restrooms, a stage for performances and a full-sized gymnasium to the school, located at 1000 E. Wilcox Drive in Sierra Vista.
“The additional classrooms will be used for our ever-growing student population as we add on a new grade level each year,” Raquel Lis, Leman’s principal said Tuesday. “We started in 2016 with a kindergarten through sixth-grade school, added a seventh-grade this year and next year we expect to be a kindergarten through eighth-grade school.”
