After School Programs
Afterbell Program
The Afterbell program is established as a childcare alternative for families whose children attend our school. Scholars respect adults, peers and all facility property. The program is regulated by the Arizona Department of Health and Human Services Office of Child Care Licensure.
Families interested in our Afterbell program can enroll through our PROCARE system. Please complete an application to get your scholars started in our child care program

Cost
The cost of the Afterbell program will be $6.25 per hour, by the minute. For each additional child the program fee will be $5.25 per hour.
DES is accepted for those that qualify at our Marana and East Tucson Locations.
Parents will need to pre-select the days your scholar will attend, and pre-payment for days is required.
If you do not pre-select and pay, there will be a drop-in fee of $30 added to your account for that day.
In the event of late pick-up, families will be charged a penalty of $20.00 per child and $1.00 per minute.
Snack
The Afterbell program is participating in the Empower Pack. A snack of two components is available through Leman Academy Afterbell. The snack menu will be posted on the Parent Board. Scholars are welcome to bring their own snacks to the Afterbell program.
Afterbell Schedule
Afterbell provides a structured program with daily teacher-directed activities. Afterbell partners with the Leman Academy classical education curriculum where the planned activities hearten the love of art, music, and literacy. The program provides afternoon snack, homework time, tutoring, planned extracurricular activities, and recess.

Schedule may change to better accommodate the scholars’ needs.
Club Activities
If your child is in a club or class led by an approved Leman vendor, these classes may start between 3:15-4:00 pm, depending on the program. Our Afterbell staff or vendor staff will coordinate getting your child to and from the classes or club if he/she should sign up.
Calendar
The Afterbell program operates on days when Leman Academy is in session. The Afterbell program may provide camps during Fall, Spring and Summer Breaks. If camps are available, they will be announced in the Leman Academy of Excellence newsletter.
Illness
It is in the best interest of your scholar and the other scholars if you keep your scholar at home when he or she is ill. Scholars with fever, diarrhea, vomiting will not be admitted to the program. If a scholar becomes ill while at the program, the parent will be called immediately to pick up the child. Parents will be notified regarding contagious illnesses. Scholars will be readmitted when they are 24 hours symptom free.
Medication
In accordance with state law, we will not dispense any medication to any scholar without advanced written consent from the parent or guardian. Prescription medication may be given only to the scholar for whom it is prescribed. NO over the counter medication will be administered to any scholar. The parent must complete and have on file at the main office a “Parent Permission to Administer Medication” form.
Discipline
Scholars are expected to behave in a manner consistent with the code of conduct policy found in the Leman Academy of Excellence Parent/Scholar Handbook. Positive reinforcement is the main form of discipline aside from the guidelines for behavior established in the Parent/Scholar Handbook.
Parents may set up a meeting with the program Director to discuss individual needs and concerns. We plan to use a consistent, positive approach including redirection, diversion and separation, with an eye toward promoting self discipline.

- First Offense: Director/Scholar conference
- Second Offense: Director/Parent/Scholar conference
- Third Offense: Suspension from the program
- Fourth Offense: Dropped from the program
Sports
Leman Academy will have the opportunity to set up games with other schools located in southern Arizona that have teams in the Tucson Independent Athletic League (TIAL). Some of the schools that participate in this league are Desert Christian Middle School, Tucson Country Day School, The Gregory School, Casas Christian, etc.
