What platforms does Leman Virtual Academy use?

All the curriculum, training programs, research tools, assessments and discussions can be found through our online portal. Leman Virtual Academy is a Google School and the ability to create and share across the Google platform has allowed us to fully embrace technology in a Classical School model.

Whether you live close to one of our brick-and-mortar campuses or not, we have the ability to manage most, if not all of your technical issues or questions virtually.

Part of joining our program includes online safety classes to ensure proper use of the internet as a technology tool. All our scholars and parents will be assigned an @lemanacademy.org email so you can access and communicate using our internal systems.

How is Leman Virtual Academy different from Homeschooling?

Leman Virtual Academy is a Public Virtual Charter School which means that we are held accountable by the state for attendance, curriculum, and state testing (AASA). Our Virtual Academy program gives families the opportunity to access our classical model of education in a virtual setting. We make allowances for individualized flexible schedules, yet hold scholars and families accountable to our rigorous curriculum. In addition to providing curriculum and oversight, our Leman Virtual Academy teaching staff will work with families in both a grade-level setting and also in an individual virtual setting.

Can scholars move to the next grade if they finish the current grade early?

Scholars must follow the Leman Virtual Academy curriculum plan and pacing.

What if I feel my scholar is very behind in Math?

There are opportunities outside of class time for additional help. Scholar hours are offered daily and small math groups are offered weekly.

Can I use the ESA (Empowerment Scholarship Award) for Leman Virtual Academy?

No, we are a tuition-free public charter school and funded by the state of Arizona.

What materials and resources does Leman Virtual Academy supply to my scholar?

Leman Virtual Academy will provide families with all core curriculum texts (both print and digital), access to digital programs, and a grade level teacher who will provide lessons, virtual meetings, assignments and grades. Families will be responsible for providing a computer (desktop, laptop, or Chromebook) and internet access, grade level Novels (3rd through 8th Grade), and may find it beneficial to purchase some supplemental resources (such as the Usborne Science Encyclopedia).
