At Leman Academy of Excellence, athletics are an important part of the scholar experience. Our programs, for grades 6-8, build teamwork, leadership, and school spirit while supporting our motto: Strong Minds, Strong Character, Strong Future.
Sports Offered in Colorado Schools – Grades 6-8
Boys and girls basketball runs from the first week of Dec-End of January.
Boys volleyball runs the last week of February-first week of April
Girl's Volleyball first week of September to second week of October (fall break)
Girls Soccer runs from the second week of April-the third week of May.

Please note: Leman Academy athletic programs are available to scholars in grades 6–8 only.
Eligibility & Fees
- Scholars in grades 6-8 may participate after making a team.
- Students must maintain a 70% or better in each class to remain eligible.
- A sports fee is due each season. The amount may vary by sport and campus.
Additional Information
- We are in a league with schools in the surrounding area and we will play both home and away games (Parker, Littleton, Highlands Ranch, and Castlerock).
- Transportation is not provided by the school
- We can have between 1-3 teams for sports. This is dependent on how many scholars try-out
- A team games are planned to play at 4:15, B @ 5:15, and C @ 6:15
- Team cuts can be made for each sport. We will notify you via email if your scholar did not make a team
- If there is insufficient scholar interest in a sport, the sport may not be offered
- Sports fees will be $170. This pays for referees, equipment, and coach stipends
- Our Leman sports program operates as a non-profit, meaning all fees directly support the program’s expenses. Sports fees will be added to your My School Bucks account
- Please note that once your scholar has committed and been placed on a team, these fees are non-refundable. This is because teams are finalized, coaches are hired, and referees are scheduled based on the number of scholars committed
- An up-to-date physical must be on file to participate in practices and games. It must be in date and signed by a medical professional
- Scholar-athletes. All grades must be at a C or above. If a grade falls below this requirement then the player will be ineligible for the next game until it is back up
- Practice days and times: TBD
- To attend tryouts, practices, or games your scholar must be in attendance that day
Uniforms
Jerseys will be loaned to the scholar. A $100 fee will be added to your MySchoolBucks account for non-returned uniforms or for damaged uniforms.
Homeschool Scholars
Scholars enrolled through Leman Virtual Academy are welcome to join campus teams.
Sportsmanship
Leman athletes are expected to demonstrate teamwork, respect, and integrity both on and off the field.
Team Communication & Schedules
Team schedules and updates will be shared through TeamSnap or the Remind app. As the season approaches, families should watch for an email from Mr. D’Arcy or their coach with instructions to sign up and download the app (both are free). Once enrolled, all practice schedules, game details and team communications will be shared there.

FAQs
Practice Days/Times: Practice will be at the Coaches discretion. Please reach out to your coach for this information.
Scholars will need to change into their practice clothes after dismissal (3:30pm) then meet where the coach has advised (gym, turf, porch, etc)
Unless otherwise instructed by your coach you will pick up your scholar at the front of the school. Scholars will come to you.
Late pickup fees will be applied if scholars are not picked up on time
WHAT TO WEAR:
Athletic Sneakers: With laces
T-Shirt. Whatever you are comfortable in and that is appropriate.
Running/gym/etc Shorts. Whatever you are comfortable in and that is appropriate.
Any Medications you need (prescription or over-the counter).
Face Mask. Optional.
Weather Appropriate Gear, when needed. Such as: rain jacket, sweatshirt, etc.
Bring a water bottle
Safety for our scholars will always be our first priority.
If it is heavy rain then practice will be moved to inside the gym
If practice is cancelled your coach or myself will notify the team by sending out a Remind notification, teamsnap, email, or letting Scholars know directly.
